Terms of Use
These terms apply to visa-calculate.com and everything served from it. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
1. What this site is
The site provides two things: (a) a calculator that counts days of stay against the 90/180 and 365/180 quota rules, and (b) a reference library of visa requirements, fees, processing times and rule interpretations for the countries we cover. The reference library is compiled from public official sources and is described in detail on the Team & Methodology page.
The site is not a visa agency, a law firm, a consultancy, or an official government service. See the Disclaimer for the consequences of that.
2. Licence to use the site
You may use the calculator and read the reference library free of charge, for personal or internal business purposes. You may print or save individual pages for your own use. You may quote figures from this site in your own work provided that you attribute them to visa-calculate.com and link to the specific page you took them from, and provided the quotation is not presented as the whole of the source.
3. What you may not do
- Republish or mirror the country tables, in whole or in substantial part, as a competing reference product.
- Scrape the site in a way that degrades service for other users, or use automated means to extract the full dataset and redistribute it.
- Present our data as an official determination, a government publication, or a guarantee of visa issuance.
- Alter our figures and then attribute the altered figures to this site.
- Use the site for anything unlawful, or to facilitate misrepresentation to a border authority.
Automated access for indexing purposes by legitimate search engines is welcome and is governed by robots.txt.
4. Accuracy, and your responsibility to verify
Visa rules are set by sovereign states and change without notice. Processing times vary by consular district and by season. Fees are revised. Visa-free arrangements are extended, suspended or replaced. Our data carries an update date on every record, and you should check it.
Before you book travel, buy insurance, or make a filing decision, confirm every material fact with the embassy, consulate or visa centre responsible for your application. A calculation from this site is not a substitute for that confirmation, and no official body is bound by anything you read here.
5. Intellectual property
The site's text, layout, code and compiled dataset are protected by copyright. "Compiled" is important: the underlying facts are public, but the selection, verification, structuring and annotation of them is ours. Third-party trademarks, agency names and government publications referenced on the site remain the property of their owners.
6. Third-party links and services
We link to embassy, consulate, visa centre and government pages, and the site loads a small number of third-party resources (a privacy-friendly analytics beacon, and display advertising when ads are enabled). Linked sites have their own terms and privacy practices, which we do not control. Following a link is at your own risk.
7. Advertising
The site is funded by display advertising. Advertising is served programmatically and is not editorially endorsed by us; an advertiser appearing on a page is not a recommendation, and advertisers have no input into the data or the editorial content. We do not accept paid placement inside the country reference tables.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data is current at the moment you read it.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, missed travel, aborted business trips, denied boarding, refused entry, visa refusal, overstay penalties, or any decision you make in reliance on the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use the site — and since the site is free, that amount is nil.
9. Changes, suspension and termination
We may add, change, suspend or remove pages, data and features at any time without notice. We may revise these terms; the revision date at the top of the page will change when we do, and continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law and disputes
No specific court or country is nominated in these terms. The interpretation of these terms, and any dispute arising out of the site, is governed by the law that applies to the operator — that is, the law of the place from which the site is operated. Nothing here removes any consumer right you have under the mandatory law of your own country of residence, and if you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
Before starting any formal step, please write to the address in section 14. Almost everything that reaches us is a data question that can be settled by email in one exchange.
11. Reporting misuse or infringement
If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, misstates a rule you are responsible for publishing, or is being used by a third party in breach of section 3, write to the address in section 14 with:
- the URL of the material concerned;
- what is wrong, or what right you say is infringed;
- for a rights claim, evidence that you hold the right;
- what you want us to do.
We will respond, and where a claim is substantiated we will correct the page, remove the material, or explain why we are keeping it. We do not remove accurate data about a country merely because someone would prefer it were not published.
12. Language versions
The site is published in English and Chinese. The two versions are maintained as a pair and reconciled field by field, but where a discrepancy is found before it is fixed, the version carrying the newer update month reflects our current understanding. 13. Severability, entire agreement, no waiver
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force and the unenforceable provision is replaced by one that comes closest to its intended effect. These terms, together with the Disclaimer and Privacy Statement, are the entire agreement between you and the operator regarding use of the site. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of it.
