Disclaimer

Last updated:2026-09-21

Every page on this site carries a short disclaimer in its footer. This page is the long version, because a sentence is not enough to explain where the numbers come from and what they cannot do.

1. We are not an official source

This site is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any embassy, consulate, visa application centre, immigration authority, or government. Where we state a rule, we are reporting what an official source publishes — we are not issuing it. The authority that decides your case is the authority that sets the rule; where the two appear to disagree, the official source prevails.

Nothing on this site is legal advice, immigration advice, or a professional opinion on your individual circumstances. No practitioner–client relationship is created by your use of the site. Maximum-stay figures, refusal-risk indicators and rule comparisons are general descriptions of published rules; they cannot account for your nationality, residence, travel history, financial profile, purpose of travel, or consular discretion. For advice about your own application or a refusal, consult a licensed practitioner in the relevant jurisdiction.

3. Limits of the calculator

The calculator does what arithmetic cannot do for you: it counts days across cycles. It cannot do the following, and you should keep each in mind before relying on a result:

4. How our data is sourced and how current it is

Records are compiled from official embassy, consulate, visa centre and government pages, cross-checked against a second official source where one exists. Every country record carries an update month and a source link; the update month is the last time we verified that record, not the date the rule changed. Rules can change between our update and your reading. Check the update stamp, then confirm with the official source.

5. Two worked examples of how a correct number can still mislead

Both of these came from real reader questions during the site's first month. In each case the arithmetic was right and the conclusion was still wrong, which is exactly why the tool cannot be the last word.

Example 1 — "The calculator says I have 40 days left, but the officer gave me 20."

A traveller on a multiple-entry visa counted 50 days used in the current 180-day cycle, therefore 40 remaining. At the border, the officer admitted them for 20 days. Nothing was miscalculated: the visa's maximum stay per entry was 30 days, and the officer admitted them for less than the per-entry maximum. A quota calculation tells you the limit across entries; it does not tell you how long you will be admitted for on any single one. Read the per-entry maximum on the visa itself, and treat the officer's stamp as the operative figure.

Example 2 — "Two official pages give me different answers."

A traveller found one consulate page stating a 90-day maximum stay and a central portal page stating 30 days for the same visa type. Both were current. The difference was consular district: the visa in question is issued with different maximum stays depending on where you apply. When official sources disagree, the source that governs is the mission that will decide your application. That is also why we ask you to name the mission when you report an error.

The pattern behind both examples: a number is only as good as the answering of "which rule applies to me, and who decides?" The calculator answers the arithmetic. Only you, with the official source and your own documents in front of you, can answer the rest — and the border officer has the final say.

6. Errors and corrections

We expect to have errors. If you find one, send the page URL, the field, what it currently says, and a link to the official source — see Contact Us. Corrections that can be traced to an official page are applied promptly and recorded in the update stamp. We do not change figures on the strength of an assertion that cannot be sourced.

Links to embassy, consulate, visa centre and government pages are provided so you can verify our data at the source. We do not control those sites, their availability, or their content, and linking to one is not endorsement of everything else on it.

8. No warranty, no liability

The site and its data are provided "as is", without warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for any purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator accepts no liability for refused boarding, denied entry, visa refusal, overstay penalties, cancelled or aborted travel, or any other loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its data. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
