Privacy Statement
Short version: we do not have accounts, forms or a database of your trip data. The calculator runs entirely in your browser and your itinerary stays there. The only third parties that ever receive anything from a visit are the ones named in section 6, and what they receive is ordinary web-request data, not your travel records.
1. What we do not collect
- No account, no login, no profile. There is nothing to sign up for.
- No web forms. The site has no contact form, no newsletter box, no feedback widget. Corrections and questions come by email, which means they arrive in an inbox rather than in a database.
- No server-side storage of your trips. The entry and exit dates you type are never transmitted to us. We have no API that could receive them, and no admin panel in which to look at them.
- No selling or sharing of personal data — we hold none to sell.
- No tracking pixels, session recording, or heatmapping. If we ever add one, it will be named here first.
2. Where your trip data lives
Everything you enter is written to your own browser's local storage (a per-site key-value store), for this domain only. It does not leave your device. Practically, that means:
- Only the browser you used, on the device you used, can see those trips.
- Clearing site data, using private/incognito windows, switching browsers, or switching between the English and Chinese versions can each make records appear to have vanished.
- Because nothing was ever sent to us, we cannot recover a lost itinerary. Please keep your own record of entry and exit dates — passport stamps, boarding passes, or a note — because that record, not our calculator, is what a border officer will compare against.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
This site sets no first-party cookies of its own. The technologies actually in play are:
| Type | What it is | Status on this site |
|---|---|---|
| Local storage | Browser-side key-value store | Used, for your trip records and interface preferences. Not a cookie; not transmitted. |
| Strictly necessary cookies | Required for the site to serve and for security | Set by our hosting provider as part of normal delivery and abuse protection. |
| Analytics cookies | Audience measurement | Not used in cookie form — see section 6 for the cookie-free analytics beacon we load. |
| Advertising cookies | Ad delivery, frequency capping, personalisation | Set by Google when advertising is active — see section 7. |
4. Third-party services we actually load
These are named because "we may share data with partners" is a sentence that tells you nothing. This is the complete list as of the update date above.
| Provider | Purpose | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare (Pages hosting, CDN, Web Analytics) | Serving the site and counting visits | Standard request data: IP address, user agent, requested path, timestamp. Cloudflare's analytics is described by its provider as cookie-free and does not build a cross-site profile. |
Google AdSense (publisher ID pub-8435389553272540) | Display advertising, when enabled | Ad-serving signals including IP address, user agent, and cookie or device identifiers used to select and cap ads. |
Embassy, consulate and government pages that we link to are not loaded into this site — they are ordinary links. Nothing is sent to them until you click, and once you do, their own privacy policies apply.
5. Advertising and how to turn off personalised ads
The site is funded by display advertising. Advertising is served by Google; it is not editorially endorsed, and advertisers have no influence over the data we publish (see the Team & Methodology page).
You can control ad personalisation without leaving the web:
- Google Ads Settings —
adssettings.google.com: turn off personalised advertising or review the interests Google has inferred. - Your regional industry opt-out — for the US and elsewhere,
aboutads.info/choicesandyouronlinechoices.euin the EU/UK. - Browser-level — most browsers can block third-party cookies, which limits cross-site ad personalisation. Blocking them does not stop ads being shown; it makes them less relevant.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, advertising to you is gated behind a consent message: nothing non-essential loads until you make a choice, and you can change it later from the same message.
6. Your rights
Data protection law gives you rights over personal data a service holds about you. Because this site holds no account and no server-side trip data, the honest answer for most requests is that there is nothing for us to retrieve — but the rights still apply, and we treat requests seriously.
| Right | GDPR / UK GDPR | CCPA / CPRA (California) |
|---|---|---|
| Know what is collected | Yes — sections 3–5 of this page are the disclosure | Yes |
| Access a copy | Yes. We hold no trip data; email threads you sent us are the only candidate | Yes |
| Correct inaccurate data | Yes — and data corrections to the reference library are welcome from anyone | Yes |
| Delete | Yes. Email with the subject DELETE | Yes |
| Object / restrict processing | Yes, including objecting to advertising personalisation | Yes, including the right to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined |
| Portability | Yes. Your trip data is already on your device, in your browser | Yes |
| Non-discrimination | n/a | Yes — exercising a right will not change what you see here |
To exercise any of these, write to plivet222222@gmail.com. Include enough to identify the request; we will not ask for ID beyond what is needed to action it. If you are unsatisfied, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
7. How long things are kept
- Trip records: on your device until you delete them. We never hold them, so there is no retention period on our side.
- Email threads: kept while a correction remains useful for reference — so that when the same rule changes again we can see what the official source said last time — then deleted.
- Server logs: held by our hosting provider under their own standard retention, and not used by us to identify individuals.
- Aggregate analytics: retained by the analytics provider under their published policy, without personal identifiers on our side.
8. Children
This site is aimed at adults planning business or leisure travel. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. There is no age-gated content, and no account to create. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, write to the address above and it will be deleted.
9. International transfers and security
The site is served from a global CDN, so requests may be handled in a data centre outside your country. Transport is encrypted end to end over HTTPS; the site is served over TLS with modern cipher suites, and we do not run an origin server that stores user data. No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say that than promise otherwise — but the practical exposure here is limited by design: there is no user database to breach.
10. External links
We link extensively to embassy, consulate, visa centre and government pages, because those are the sources you should verify against. We do not control those sites or their privacy practices, and following a link takes you outside this policy.
11. Changes to this statement
If what the site collects changes — a new analytics tool, a new ad network, an account system — this page changes first, and the update date above changes with it. We do not silently expand what is collected.
12. Contact

Change log
- 2026-09-21 — Rewritten and expanded. Previous version covered only trip storage, external links and AdSense cookies; it did not name the services loaded, did not describe advertising opt-out routes, and contained no rights, retention, children or transfer provisions. All of that is now disclosed.
